FAQs

How long are tutoring sessions?

The minimum session booking is 30 minutes. With online tutoring and the age of the students, TutorMe recommends 60 minutes sessions. For subject-specific tutoring, one session a week is the minimum. For academic support, a minimum of two weekly sessions has proven the most effective.

Do I need to sign a contract?

No! TutorMe believes in a flexible approach to tutoring. That means no signed contracts or prepaid sessions. Simply confirm your time slot, and cancel within 6 hours if needed. At the end of the month, you will receive an invoice with the hours your child used.

Are sessions a set time and date? Can I change my sessions?

When you sign up, we will work with you to find a perfect time slot and lock it in place. This will be the scheduled time for your child to meet their tutor. (For example, academic tutoring on Mondays and Wednesdays at 6 pm.) If you need to change or move the session, we are flexible, so let us know so we can find an alternative time and date.

Can I add extra sessions before big assessments or exams?

Yes! You can add as many sessions as needed before big assessments or exams. Extra sessions will be built around the pre-scheduled students.

How will my child connect with their tutor?

They will receive a reoccurring Zoom link once your time and date have been confirmed. If an issue occurs, feel free to call, text or email before your session for troubleshooting.

What is your cancellation policy?

Things happen! Just text, call or email us at least 6 hours before the set session, and we can reschedule. However, if the Zoom call begins and your child doesn't attend, you will be charged a small fee.

How does billing work?

You will receive an invoice via email on the last day of the month with instructions on payment method and type.

Will I be updated on my child's progress?

Some parents like an email with a to-do list after every session, while others prefer an occasional phone call. We will communicate to your standard. Let us know what kind of communication you'd like.
